The solo-developed Loony Laps is an arcade toy racer coming to Quest 3 and Quest 3S in Q1 2027.
Created by solo developer Paulo Cunha, Loony Laps is an upcoming toy car racing game that brings the magic of die-cast racing and elaborate toy tracks into mixed reality and VR.
The game features 29 handcrafted tracks designed around chaos and laughs, rather than realism. These tracks feature loops, jumps, magnetic objects, branching paths, mobile machinery and ridiculous hazards. The cars are designed to look like detailed die-cast toys, and are customizable with paint, wheels, and materials.
A recently-released trailer shows off the game’s many wacky races, and it’s looking like a well-polished machine!

The game is playable in VR and mixed reality. In VR, players race within a dedicated miniature environment while in mixed reality, the wacky racetracks appear inside your physical space.
Loony Laps will launch with three play modes. Championship progression unlocks cars and tracks, while Quick Race lets you jump right into a chosen event. Time Trial lets you focus on beating your best times. The game is built around short, replayable arcade sessions.
Loony Laps is currently scheduled for a Q1 release in 2027. A price has not been announced, though the game’s Meta Horizon Store page is up and open for wishlisting.
