Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised the referee and VAR after disallowing West Ham’s stoppage-time equaliser as his side beat West Ham 1-0 at the London Stadium.
‘You’re talking about a moment that can decide the history the course of two massive clubs that they are fighting with their lives to achieve their objectives and phew, the pressure is huge. It was the right choice,’ said Arteta.
‘I think it is an obvious error and it is a free-kick and the goal has to be disallowed so congratulations because they made a big call in very, very difficult circumstances.’
The result leaves Arsenal two wins from a first league title since 2004 and West Ham a point adrift of safety, with two games remaining, while guaranteeing another season in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest and Leeds United
