The future of the Spurs is in good hands.

The final four teams that met in the Olympic Men’s Basket ball were Team USA (gold medal), France (silver), Serbia (bronze), and Germany.

FIBA’s Top 5 included members of all four national teams.

Dennis Schröder, Steph Curry, LeBron James, Nikola Jokić, and our beloved Victor Wembanyama, all of whom currently play in the NBA.

Schröder’s 3-pointer in the quarterfinal against Greece put the game to bed as he finished the matchup with 13 points, 8 assists, 1 steal, and 14 EFF in 31 minutes of action.

Stephen Curry was ridiculous in his gold medal game scoring 8 three-pointers, four in the last two minutes including the dagger that sealed the game.

LeBron James made his presence known in each game, usually form the onset, and set the tone for Team USA. He was named the FIBA MVP of these Olympics.

Jokic highlighted his performance with a triple-double of 19 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists with 0 turnovers in Serbia’s 93-83 win over Germany for the Bronze Medal.

And Victor Wembanyama, named FIBA’s Rising Star, led the French team in scoring with 15.8 points, rebounds at 9.7, assists at 3.3, steals with 2.0 and blocks with 1.7 per game.

Wemby is nine years younger than Jokic, the next youngest in the Top 5. He might be the only one from this list to return in 2028, depending on how road worn The Joker is over the next four seasons.

No matter what, he is equipped to take his game, and elevate the sport, to the next level both in the NBA and internationally.
