Daily rain chances, cooler temperatures return for the last full week of July

WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS:

  • – Scattered, daily rain chances return this week, starting Monday afternoon

  • – Cooler temperatures are in the forecast as a result, with highs contained to the 80s starting Tuesday

FORECAST DETAILS:

Hope you’ve had a great weekend!

High pressure moves west in the days ahead, allowing for an atypical, active weather pattern to take over for this last full week of July.

Daily, scattered rain chances return to the forecast starting Monday afternoon and evening. Times of off and on rain will likely last through at least Thursday, with some spotty rain chances potentially lingering into next weekend. Pockets of heavy rainfall, lightning, thunder, and perhaps some gusty winds will be the main things to monitor with these rain chances.

In terms of rain totals, it’s still looking like most areas will pick up on at least an inch of rain, with pockets of 2 to 4 inches certainly possible over the next seven days. It won’t be continuously raining at your house all day, every day, but for those that do find some heavier downpours, a few instances of minor flooding may need to be monitored at times, especially in those common trouble spots/poor drainage areas.

An added plus to this optimistic rainfall outlook? Cooler temperatures! Added cloud cover and rain-cooled air will likely contain highs to the 80s starting Tuesday. Can’t complain for the end of July!

We’ll keep you posted on any adjustments in the days ahead, but plan to keep the umbrella nearby this week!

Have a great night. ~ Mia
