That purported price would have made Chiesa (left) the second-most expensive player of all time to move to a Premier League team, after Paul Pogba’s transfer to Manchester United, but the Italian giants are said to have turned the Reds down. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp (right) is thought to have considered the versatile winger perfect for his 4-3-3 system, playing alongside or potentially replacing Sadio Mane and Mo Salah. But new Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri, who returned to the club in May on a four-year deal two years after leaving, is said to consider Chiesa ‘non-transferable’, with club president Andrea Agnelli backing that decision. The 23-year-old is considered one of the hottest properties in Europe after a series of scintillating performances at this summer’s European Championship tournament.
