Watch: Gregg Popovich runs line drills with Team USA coaching staff

Gregg Popovich may be 72-years-old, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t still in exceptional shape for his age. Thanks to Kevin Love, we got to see Pop and his coaching stuff run the infamous line drill at Team USA’s practice facility while the players cheered him on. He may have come in last, but he wasn’t far behind.

This gives me nightmare flashbacks to running these drills in high school, except it was on a soccer field, which averages at about 300 ft long (or three times longer than a basketball court) and typically has 12 “lines”. I was never a runner and didn’t enjoy running drills by themselves, but I did it for my love of playing soccer. Sometimes sacrifices must be made.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Pop show off his speed. There will always bee this classic from 2017 where he “chased” an ESPN cameraman as he was filming his arena entry ahead of a game. Never change, Pop.
