UPDATE: H-E-B closing all San Antonio-area stores early Thursday due to icy conditions

UPDATE, 4:30 p.m.: H-E-B has now announced it will close all stores in San Antonio at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The stores are expected to open at 8 a.m. on Friday, February 4.

As roads continue freezing across South Central Texas, H-E-B is making changes in response to the inclement weather. On Thursday, it announced it closing some stores early in the San Antonio suburbs and Texas Hill Country.

The following San Antonio-area stores will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 3. These stores will open at 8 a.m. on Friday, February 4.

  • Luling
  • Marble Falls
  • San Marcos, both locations
  • Wimberley

The following are H-E-B stores will close at 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, and reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, February 4.

  • Fredericksburg
  • Kerrville, both locations

It’s also affecting stores in Austin, its suburbs, and other Central Texas towns. The following stores will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 3. These stores will open at 8 a.m. on Friday, February 4.

  • all Round Rock H-E-B stores
  • Bastrop plus!
  • Buda
  • Burnet

Earlier this week, H-E-B said it was fully prepared for the cold temperatures, and it was taking precautions to protect and support its partners and its stores, which are open and have additional stock to ensure product availability. 

“Our dedicated partners – at our stores, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and transportation team – are ready and well-equipped to serve our customers with the products they need,” H-E-B added.
