Western Kerr County, Edwards, Real and Val Verde counties are all under a Winter Storm Warning through midnight. Most areas will see rain in the morning before it turns to snow by the afternoon, the NWS said.

The areas closest to San Antonio, like Kerrville, will likely see less than an inch of snow while the northwestern portion of the Hill Country will see 3 to 4 inches.

Weather experts say the ice and snow accumulation may create travel difficulties and recommend individuals keep an extra flashlight, food and water in their car if they are driving.

No snow accumulation is expected in San Antonio, though residents will likely see thunderstorms and cool weather through Thursday afternoon. San Antonio is expected to see a high of 48 Thursday with temps in the 30s in the evening.

On Friday, expect a high of 56 and low of 34. Temperatures will warm up into the 60s on Saturday and Sunday but the lows will remain in the 30s.
