U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-San Antonio, had some choice words for President Donald Trump over a political advertisement that was tweeted out by a Twitter account managed by the Trump campaign.

In the meme-like ad, two alleged MS-13 gang members are photographed next to verbiage saying they are supporting Trump’s likely democratic opponent Joe Biden for not deporting them.

Castro fired back at the Tweet, saying “This is the kind of s–t that led to El Paso,” referring to a mass shooting last August that left 22 people dead. According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the shooter confessed to investigators he drove from the Dallas area to El Paso to target Mexicans.

Castro tagged the president and his daughter Ivanka Trump in the retweet of the ad.

As of Friday morning, Castro’s tweet had been retweeted more than 3,000 times and had 15,000 likes.
