The Spurs announce a crowded injury report for their matchup with OKC

The San Antonio Spurs announced their first official injury report after four positive coronavirus tests postponed four games and kept the team quarantined in Charlotte for almost one week.

DeMar DeRozan is not with the team, and the four-time All-Star will not be available for San Antonio’s matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder after the passing of his father last Friday.

Rudy Gay, Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, Derrick White, and Quinndary Weatherspoon will also be unavailable on Wednesday per the league’s health and safety protocols.

LaMarcus Aldridge participated in practice today after missing the previous six games with a right hip flexor injury, and the Spurs will update his status tomorrow.

The Silver and Black must field eight players to be eligible to play, and they recalled Luka Samanic and Tre Jones from the G League on Sunday in an apparent attempt to meet that mark.

Even should LaMarcus fail to suit up, Patty Mills, Dejounte Murray, Jakob Poeltl, Lonnie Walker IV, Trey Lyles, Drew Eubanks, Luka Samanic, Tre Jones, and Keita Bates-Diop gives them nine active players.

The Spurs were in the middle of playing some of their best basketball of the season before this sudden hiatus, so it’ll be fascinating to watch how coach Popovich handles rotations in their return to action.
