On Wednesday, the page alerted the public about finding 80 white-tailed deer carcasses unfit for human consumption in coolers at a meat processing facility in Wichita County, along the Texas-Oklahoma border.

At the meat processing facility in Decatur, wardens said in a release that further investigation revealed deer in varying stages of decay. The majority of the deer were quartered and stored in trash bags, which restricted the necessary airflow. Some of its tubs also contained multiple deer that had been boned out, the release noted.

Officials disposed of all 22 deer and gave the facility citations for each one, as well as a citation for failure to maintain a cold storage log.

All customers whose harvest was affected by the incident were notified, the release said.

We only know of these two incidents in North Texas, but two is enough for us.
