Suns Fear Cameron Johnson Has Torn Right Meniscus

The Phoenix Suns fear that forward Cameron Johnson has suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee. Johnson is undergoing further injury to determine the extent of the injury.

The talented fourth-year forward was injured during the Suns loss on Friday to the Portland Trail Blazer. Johnson exited early in the game and did not return.

Johnson was given a starting spot for the first time this offseason. That promotion to the opening lineup caused veteran forward Jae Crowder to request a trade. Crowder has been away from the Suns since making the trade request.

Johnson is scheduled to be a restricted free agent this summer. Phoenix and Johnson were unable to come to an agreement on a rookie scale contract extension before the deadline prior to opening night of this season.
