Steve Nash After Two Losses To Cavs: Nets Need To ‘Dig Deeper’ On Defense
Steve Nash said that the Brooklyn Nets need to play harder on defense following two consecutive losses to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Nets gave up 134 total points in the paint in their two losses to the Cavs, the most allowed in back-to-back games over the last 25 years, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.
“We just need to find a way to play harder. Dig deeper. We are not a defensive roster.
“We have to take more pride, contest more shots, fight, scrap, claw, and that’s what I think is missing as much as anything schematic that we’re breaking down,” said Nash after the game.
Nash added that the team has to look inward for defensive growth as opposed to roster additions.
DeAndre Jordan said that the Nets will learn from the recent losses.
“Rome wasn’t built in a day. Championship teams weren’t built in a day. They’ve gone through struggles. So we’ve got to be able to take this on the chin and learn from it and ultimately come back and respond tomorrow and for the rest of the season.”
