Spurs fans celebrate unofficial Tim Duncan Day

January 21, 2021 may seem like a normal day to most (or at least closer to normal than January 20, 2021), but it meant something else entirely to San Antonio Spurs fans. It’s the 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century, i.e. Unofficial Tim Duncan Day. As a result, there was plenty of fun to be had on Twitter.

And to be clear, most see 2000 as the turn of the century, therefore making 2021 the 22nd year of the century (I remember having this debate with my 8th grade Algebra teacher back in the day), but in actuality the year 0 A.D. is not a recognized year. 1 A.D. is officially the year after 1 B.C., therefore the century turns on the ‘01 years.

Also, if you are in the Central Time Zone or any place where it hasn’t already passed, 9:21:21 PM will officially be the 21st second of the 21st minute of the 21st hour of the 21st day of 21st year of the 21st century (imagine if we had a 21st month too), so be sure to pause and raise a glass to the GOATPUFF!
