Spurs assign Davis Bertans and Derrick White to Austin

The Spurs’ least-used players join Tony Parker for Austin’s training camp.

The San Antonio Spurs have assigned Davis Bertans and Derrick White to their G-League affiliate in Austin. Per Spurs.com:

The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have assigned forward Davis Bertans and guard Derrick White to the Austin Spurs of the NBA Development League.

Bertans is averaging 2.3 points and 1.3 rebounds in 7.8 minutes in four games this season, while White has appeared in three contests for San Antonio.

They will be joining Tony Parker for the Austin Spurs training camp, currently being held at the Spurs practice facility in San Antonio. Bertans and White have played the least number of minutes for the Spurs this season, so hopefully they will get some valuable experience with the Austin squad. There is no word on if they will rejoin the team for Thursday’s game vs. the Golden State Warriors.
