San Antonio firefighters were called to the 100 block of F Street just before 4 a.m. for the structure in the back of the resident’s property. When crews arrived, the structure was completely engulfed in flames but firefighters were able to knock it down in about 10 minutes.
The resident’s father was living in the back house at the time, but wasn’t there at the time of the fire. Officials said he returned to the home while crews were still trying to extinguish hot spots.
The house sustained about $20,000 in damages.
An arson investigator was called out to determine the cause of the fire.
