Sources: The Spurs are trying to move Pau Gasol

One Eastern GM says the Spurs are “working hard” to part ways with their Spanish center.

With just over 24 hours remaining until the trade deadline, one Eastern Conference GM told Mitch Lawrence of Sporting News that the Spurs are working hard to move Pau Gasol.

It is unclear what inquiries they have made, what they are seeking in return, or if any talks have come close to amounting to anything. After missing 26 games early due do foot soreness, Gasol is averaging career lows of 4.5 points and 4.9 rebounds in 13 minutes per game. He is owed $16.8 million this season and is guaranteed at least $6.7 million for the 2019-20 season.
