Serie A Giants Willing To Let 95M Rated Argentinian Ace Leave As Potential Kane Alternative Emerges For City

Inter Milan could let Lautaro Martinez leave the club this summer, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Argentinian international has two years remaining on his contract at the Serie A champions but he doesn’t seem to be close to signing an extension with the Nerazzurri.

Martinez reportedly has a release clause worth €111m (£95m) that can only be triggered by foreign clubs so City would have the advantage in any negotiations.

Atletico Madrid are said to be the likeliest destination currently, but reports in the UK suggest Arsenal have recently made an enquiry, while both Manchester City and Chelsea have a longstanding interest in the 23-year-old.

Considering Martinez would be a much cheaper option than Tottenham’s Harry Kane, the Citizens could consider making a bid for the Argentine, especially with Inter willing to let him go.

A deal for Kane is still believed to be the City’s main priority but if negotiations with Spurs do stall, there is now a viable alternative on the market.
