“Currently registration is full for all 9,000 slots for the COVID-19 vaccine at both the Elvira Cisneros Senior Community Center on the South Side and the Alicia Treviño López Senior Center on the West Side,” the city said in a news release. “We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.  We will continue to open more slots as the State provides us with more vaccines.  We are committed to improving the intake process. We know this has not been easy.”

The communication from the offices of Councilwomen Rebecca Viagran, Dr. Adriana Rocha Garcia and Ana Sandoval said appointments can only be scheduled for the number of doses the state provides.

“As we receive more vaccines, we will open registration for appointments based on the number of doses,” the joint statement said. This will be an on-going distribution process that will take tome as more vaccines become available. “

The statement asked for patience throughout the process and said more updates will be provided as more vaccines become available for the city.

When registration for the two sites does reopen, appointments must be made by calling 1-833-968-1745. Currently Phase 1A and 1B are the only eligible populations to receive the vaccination. The state regulation covers people over 65 or individuals 16 or older with a chronic medical condition.
