Rival Premier League Club Leave City And United Trailing As They Offer £10.5m A Season To Serie A Star

Newcastle have offered Napoli defender Kalidoy Koulibaly €12m (£10.5m) a season to make the switch to St James’ Park, according to Le10 Sport.

The French publication claims that Manchester City and Manchester United are also interested in the 28-year-old, but the Magpies have now edged ahead of their Premier League rivals.

Newcastle’s takeover has not yet been completed but they have already been linked with a number of transfers in the past few days.

Koulibaly is expected to leave Napoli in the summer, with the Senegalese international set to be sold for approximately €100m (£87m) but it would be a massive surprise if Steve Bruce’s side won the race for the defender.

City are said to be looking for two centre-backs when the transfer window reopens but, while Koulibaly has been mentioned, the likes of Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar and RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano have been more heavily reported on as potential targets.
