Report: The Spurs to conduct a pre-draft workout with Jordan Goodwin

The San Antonio Spurs have arranged a pre-draft workout with Saint Louis shooting guard Jordan Goodwin tomorrow, per his agent Kev Martin.

Martin also says Goodwin has worked out for the Hornets, Kings, Hawks, Warriors, and Nuggets and has plans to work out for the Nets, Mavericks, and Wizards before the 2021 NBA Draft.

The senior swingman was one of 353 early entry candidates for the 2021 NBA Draft. He chose to forgo his remaining NCAA eligibility by keeping his name in the talent pool past the July 7 withdrawal deadline.

Standing six-three, Goodwin is undersized for his position but utilizes his sturdy 200-pound frame to bulldoze through defenders for points at the rim and clear out opponents for rebounds.

While the 22-year-old two-guard may go undrafted later this month, he should have no trouble earning a Summer League roster spot or two-way contract heading into the 2021-2022 season.

Goodwin averaged 14.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 2.0 steals per game during his final year under head coach Travis Ford and helped lead the program to a season-high 22nd place in the AP Poll.

The defensive-minded combo guard took home 2021 Atlantic-10 All-Defense First-Team and 2021 Atlantic-10 First-Team honors during his last go-round with the Billikens.

The 2021 NBA Draft will take place on July 29 at 7 PM CST at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. ESPN and ABC will televise the first round, and the second round will air exclusively on ESPN.
