Report: Las Vegas Raiders contract with Jimmy Garoppolo not yet finalized

Veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo made his way to the Las Vegas Raiders’ team facility in the suburb of Henderson on Thursday morning.

Garoppolo was on hand to officially ink his three-year, $75 million contract with the Raiders later that day, before joining fellow free-agent signings Jakobi Meyers and Phillip Dorsett in being introduced to the media.

That didn’t end up happening. Garoppolo’s press conference was delayed for over two hours before being postponed outright until Friday, at the earliest. While sources around the Raiders concluded that everything was “all good,” nothing had come to fruition on the contract front as of Thursday night.

Adding to the intrigue, we now have a note from ‘The Athletic”s Tashan Reed, who indicated that Garoppolo’s contract has not been finalized. Per Reed, the Raiders’ official who announced the postponement of Garoppolo’s press conference has indicated that the delay was related to contract details still “being hashed out.”
