The 15-time major champion is back at the home of his 2007 PGA win at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and has made the cut and will play the weekend. Woods birdied the 16th hole yesterday and made several gutsy pars down the stretch to earn a weekend tee time. He’s off with Shaun Norris on moving day.

Hole 1 – Par 4

Tiger’s first drive of the day found the left side of the fairway.

And we’re off.

He drew his approach shot into the green but it came up just short. It will be a long putt for birdie. From just off the green, Tiger used putter and came up woefully short. Fighting for par at No. 1. But, just like Friday, he’s grinding! Buries the 13-foot putt for par.

Hole 2 – Par 4

Tiger’s driver off No. 2 found the creek that meanders through the fairway. Hoping for bogey at his second hole of the day. Having to hit a big hook around a tree that sits on the left side of the fairway, Tiger executed the shot to perfection and his ball finished in the middle of the green. Outside chance for par. From 37 feet, Tiger’s bid came up just short and he tapped in for bogey.

Hole 3 – Par 4

Tiger pulled driver for the third-straight hole and hit this one to perfection. A nice fade with the wind finds the right side of the fairway. His approach landed on the green but rolled back just a foot off the putting surface. A birdie look coming up for the Cat. From 20 feet, he missed on the high side but tapped in for a four.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 over thru 3

Hole 4 – Par 4

On the short par 4 (377 yards), Tiger hit driver again and smashed another good one. Birdie opportunity on No. 4. He hit a tasty little wedge to six feet, great shot. His birdie putt lipped out, though, so a par on four it is.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 over thru 4

Hole 5 – Par 5

Tiger’s drive off the tee is a double-cross, pulled left into the trees. A three-shot par 5 anyway, so a good punch out will leave him with a good angle into the green. His second shot was one word: Glorious. A low, screaming hook back into the fairway to set up his third. That one got the people going. Disappointed with his third, though, as it finished short left on the green, leaving a long putt for a four. His birdie putt came up short, but he tapped in for his par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 over thru 5

Hole 6 – Par 3

No. 6 is playing straight into the wind Saturday and will be one of the toughest holes on the course during the third round. Tiger’s tee shot started in the middle of the green, drew back to the flag, but came up short in the water. His third from the drop zone also came up short and finished in the rough just outside the water hazard. Looking at a big number on six. His chip shot comes up short of the green, not good. His bid for double bogey misses the hole and a triple goes on the scorecard.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 4 over thru 6

Hole 7 – Par 4

After a rattling triple, Tiger’s tee shot found the right hand rough. With no other options from over 230 yards away from the pin, Tiger hacked it out of the rough and will have 55 yards for this third. His wedge shot was tasty, landing short of the flag and scooting up to five feet. A short miss from Tiger and it’s a bogey.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 5 over thru 7

Hole 8 – Par 3

Tiger’s tee shot on the par 3 came up short but found the putting surface. On the 224-yard hole, he’ll take that all day. His long birdie putt scared the hole but it’s par for Tiger.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 5 over thru 8

Hole 9 – Par 4

Driver once again for TW, but this one finds the fairway bunker down the right. Tiger tried to hoist a wedge out of the bunker, but it buried in the lip. It finished plugged in the turf above the bunker so he was able to take a drop within a club length and played his third from the fairway. His approach came up short and spun off the green. From just off the green Tiger used a sand-wedge but his ball didn’t spin and ran by the hole. He buried the putt for bogey.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 6 over thru 9

Hole 10 – Par 4

Tiger’s 3-wood off the 10th was hit out of the heel, didn’t cut, and found the rough down the right. His second came up well short of the green and he’s once again grinding for par. He tried to play a big spinner with his third, but flew it too far and it didn’t come back leaving a lengthy look for par. His par bid was a beauty from long range, but it’ll be a bogey.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 7 over thru 10

Hole 11 – Par 3

Another iron shot short for Tiger, missing the green at 11 by 20 yards. Looks very uncomfortable. His pitch shot airmailed the green. His third was better and finished four feet from the flag. He makes the short putt for bogey.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 8 over thru 11

Hole 12 – Par 4

His driver off the tee didn’t cut enough and finished just short of the left fairway bunker and in the rough. Another approach, another iron shot short. It finds the front-left greenside bunker. A beautiful splash and run leaves him five feet for par. Another short miss. Another bogey.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 9 over thru 12

Hole 13 – Par 5

Another cut with the driver and this one also finds the rough. The lie for his second is good enough for Tiger to pull 3-wood. With a tree in his way, he tried to play a big draw but it didn’t come back. It barely covered the water in front of the green but now he has a chance to get up and down for birdie. His third was a skulled chip over the green, and his fourth ran out to about seven feet. Really struggling around the greens Saturday. Another miss with the putter. Another bogey.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 10 over thru 13

Hole 14 – Par 3

His long-iron approach at the par 3 finds the putting surface, but he’ll have a tricky putt down the hill. His birdie bid slid by the hole quite a bit, but he made a nice comebacker for the par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 10 over thru 14

Hole 15 – Par 4

With iron in hand off the par 4, Tiger finds the fairway down 15. His approach into the green was one of his better swings of the day and his ball finished just short of pin high and in the center of the putting surface. And from just inside 37 feet…bang! First birdie of the day.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 9 over thru 15

Hole 16 – Par 4

Vibing from his first birdie of the day, Tiger fired a nicely hit driver down the right-hand side and found the fairway. Needing 3-wood into the long par 4, Tiger struck it beautifully and became the first player on Saturday to find the 16th green in regulation. Another good stroke from Tiger but his birdie putt ran by a few feet. He made the comebacker for par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 9 over thru 16

Hole 17 – Par 4

The 17th is playing driveable Saturday. 281 yards to the front, Tiger hit 3-wood downhill, downwind, and finished in the left-front greenside bunker. Tiger’s effort from the bunker flew too far and ended up on the back fringe. His birdie bid came up short after bobbling right of the face. But, he made the shortie for par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 9 over thru 17

Hole 18 – Par 4

Instead of hitting driver, Tiger pulled 3-wood on the long par 4 and hit it perfectly, a nice low cut down the left side of the fairway. His long-iron approach into the last bounced once on the front of the green and ran towards the center of the green. Tiger has hit several quality shots down the stretch. His birdie putt missed on the high side, but he would finish his day with a par.
