In episode #43 of the Superfluous Poppycock podcast, it’s time to build a case for San Antonio fans to step back from the ledge.

First, the bad news: the San Antonio Spurs have lost 8 of their last 10 games. They’ve given up double digit leads like beads at Mardi Gras. Their defense is making every team they play look like the Showtime Lakers. They are inconsistent on offense, often disinterested on defense, and have difficulty closing out games.

But that doesn’t mean it’s time to panic. On the contrary, there are any number of reasons to withhold judgment (or even be optimistic) about San Antonio’s chances this season. And joining me on the latest episode of Superfluous Poppycock to discuss the reasons for fans to step back from the ledge is Marilyn Dubinski who’s done some research on the Spurs’ history concerning poor stretches just like the one the team is currently enduring. Yes, this current run isn’t unprecedented after all.
