Random: March 31st 2021 Is Becoming An Increasingly Depressing Day For Mario Fans

Mario

Considering he serves as the company mascot and generates more revenue per year than we could ever picture in our tiny minds, Nintendo sure seems hell-bent on ruining poor old Mario’s day next year.

31st March 2021 is shaping up to be a pretty memorable day in Mario’s history, but for all the wrong reasons. On that day, Super Mario 3D All-Stars will no longer be sold physically or digitally; Super Mario Bros. 35‘s getting booted off the Switch eShop; the new Super Mario Game & Watch system will no longer be available to buy; and now poor old Super Mario Maker‘s having its online services shut down.

Mamma mia!

So what’s the deal with 31st March? Super Mario 3D All-Stars’ limited availability could be seen as a tactic to boost sales and revenue figures in the current financial year, tempting fans to spend more cash quicker than they usually might, but that doesn’t explain Super Mario Bros. 35’s unfortunate cut-off.

As it stands, there'll be no more of this come April 2021...

Whatever the reasoning, the world will have a little less Mario in it from that date which is a very sad thought indeed.
