Peter J. Holt will represent the Spurs at the 2021 NBA Draft Lottery

Spurs managing partner Peter J. Holt will represent San Antonio for the second year in a row at the NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday night, per an official press release from the league.

After going 33-39 and losing to the Grizzlies in the first round of the play-in tournament, the Silver and Black missed the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time in franchise history.

San Antonio had the 11th-best odds to capture the first overall pick a year ago and unsurprisingly landed the 11th overall pick, selecting Devin Vassell in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft.

Peter M. Holt, the father of the previously mentioned Holt, represented the Spurs in 1997 when they won the lottery. And San Antonio took some guy named Tim Duncan who would lead the franchise to five titles.

Losing the tiebreaker with the Hornets left PATFO with the 12th-best lottery odds. But perhaps the good guys are due some generosity from the basketball gods after an injury and coronavirus-ravaged season.

The Lakers had comparable odds a couple of seasons ago and ended up with the fourth pick, which they eventually used to entice the Pelicans to part ways with Anthony Davis.
