Open Thread: The 1969 ‘Spurs’ Camaro is on display at the McNay Art Museum

A collection of classic cars have been paired with works of art.

My daughter’s class had a field trip to the McNay Art Museum. They have a current display of vintage cars. The one that caught my eye was the Spurs Camaro restored by Larry Mills, Executive Vice President, Holt Companies.

The 1969 Camaro has been painted silver and black with matching leather interior seating,

custom Spurs logos and chrome,

and a piece of artwork to complement the automobile and the era.

The McNay has so many amazing pieces and such a welcoming environment. You could literally stay all day. But if cars are your thing, this temporary installation is a must. “American Dreams” is on display until May 19th. There is also a fully functional 1953 Chrysler New Yorker taxi you can win via a raffle. Seriously.
