Open Thread: Spurs Mural stop #2- Franky Diablos

This venue said “goodbye” to Kawhi and “thank you” to Manu

At 1301 Roosevelt on the corner of E. Mitchell is a dice bar called Franky Diablos. From the front, there is nothing particularly Spursy about this location:

But upon further inspection, on the north wall a tribute to the GOATPUFF is clear:

The Tim Duncan mural, by artist Nik Soupe (of Los Otros Murals), has been up since 2017. But around the corner, there once stood a similar mural to Kawhi Leonard by artist Adrian De La Cruz. Like his position with the Spurs, the paint dedicated to old #2 has been removed, and in its place a more fitting and long-lasting mural paying tribute to recent retiree Manu Ginobili:

The #graciasmanu is also credited to @losotrosmurals.

With two of the Big 3 painted on the building (and the two longest-ever tenured basketball players to only suit up in the Silver & Black), these tributes are sure to be around for a long time to come.
