Open Thread: Spurs Hype Team auditions this Sunday

The Spurs are looking for talents people to cast some family-friendly entertainment into the Spurs game

As you may recall, last May the Spurs ended the tradition of the Silver Dancers as they took their final bow. Over the years, the all-female cheerleading squad had been integrating with the co-ed breakdance crew dubbed Team Energy.

This Sunday, the Spurs are holding auditions for the family-oriented enthusiasts in what is now being called the Hype Team:

It has yet to be explained exactly how the Hype Team will work into the games, but this Sunday I plan to find out. I’m hoping they also overhaul the wardrobe as I don’t typically dance in leather chaps. Be feel free to come offer support as I attend the open audition at the University of Incarnate Word. With any luck (and a lot of stamina), I might not embarrass myself too badly.
