Open Thread: Quincy Pondexter had seven surgeries on the same knee

The guard’s road to recovery has landed him in San Antonio

The Spurs have seen their fair share of injuries this season to say the least. Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, Lonnie Walker IV, and Pau Gasol all missed significant playing time this season.

Before arriving in San Antonio, Rudy Gay suffered a debilitating ACL injury and has missed games each of his seasons with the Silver & Black.

But little has been said this season about Quincy Pondexter’s seven surgeries to his left knee.

As you can see, a positive mental attitude is an essential aspect of Pondexter’s personality. It’s easy to see from this documentary why PATFO would find his on and off court contributions necessary to the Spurs.

Just another example of a player with a lot of heart finding himself on a team that values passion and grit.
