Everyone’s favorite defensive Tasmanian devil celebrates his 31st birthday today

This has been a busy summer for Patty Mills. In July, he tied the knot with Alyssa Levesque in Hawaii. Before the two could embark on a honeymoon, the Spurs spirit animal was back home in Australia offering humanitarian support in New South Wales.

Today, Mills is bound to be out celebrating as he turns thirty-one. Still young in human years, it can be said that your average NBA player shows signs of wear and tear with age. This does not seem to be the case for the wonder from down under.

Ten seasons in, #8 played in all 82 games in the last two seasons and averaging over 20 minutes per game in his last four. He plays hard, moves fast, isn’t afraid to take a charge, and defends larger guards as if his life depended on it.

He’s so special that there is a documentary about him.

I’m attempting to get my hands on a copy. If I do, you’ll all be invited to my house for a screening.

In the meantime, with San Antonio’s most celebrated Australian a happy birthday.

Happy birthday, Patty.
