The retirement of jersey #20 is going to be packed with festivities

As I am sure you are aware by now, the San Antonio Spurs are retiring the jersey of Manu Ginobili on March 28th. It is an event worthy of the calendar amrking if ever there was one. And if you read with regularity, you’ve had ample opportunity to get in on the action with tickets and a special through PtR.

Further details have been released and are available through NBA.com:

The San Antonio Spurs today announced additional details for Manu Ginobili’s Jersey Retirement Night. A special postgame ceremony honoring Ginobili will be broadcast live from the Spurs court on FOX Sports Southwest and the FOX Sports app as well as carried live by WOAI-AM 1200 and KXTN-FM 107.5. FOX Sports Southwest will also carry an expanded one-hour Spurs Live pregame show starting at 6:30 p.m. CT.

“Will there be schwag?” you ask. This is San Antonio, Fiesta town, of course there will be.

All fans in attendance will receive an exclusive commemorative Manu Ginobili hat and Manu Ginobili Fanbangos courtesy of H-E-B. Fans can also take advantage of photo opportunities with a replica banner of Ginobili’s retired No. 20 jersey, photos from throughout his 16-year career in San Antonio, a 3-D display, and trophies from Ginobili’s four NBA Championships with the Spurs.

In addition to the festivities after the game, there will be a special presentation of the Argentine National Anthem by Michelle Leclercq as well as the United States Nation Anthem by Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis.

As the Spurs shoot around, they will be wearing special Manu warm up shirts. There are no details on whether or not those will be for sale. But this is the NBA after all, so check back, there will be updates as more information is made available.
