Open Thread: Devin Vassell and Tre Jones will be involved with Summer League

Now that the NBA Draft is over, it is time to get excited about Summer League.

First stop, Salt Lake City where the Spurs will play three games in four nights against the Memphis Grizzlies and two Utah Jazz squads. This smaller tournament is a wonderful opportunity to see the players in a micro version of the Las Vegas Summer League which takes place the following week.

I had the fortune to be able to attend the SLC Summer League in 2019, and I will be heading back this summer as well.

Who else will be leaving San Antonio for Utah’s capital city? Devin Vassell and Tre Jones.

The Spurs 2020 draft picks were shortchanged on Summer League play and training camp, as were all the new players to the NBA.

But this summer, the competition is back (if even a month later than normal).

Josh Primo and Joe Wieskamp, the newest draftees to the Silver & Black, are sure to be on the roster as well as training camp invitees and some Austin G-League players.

Check back for updated roster information as it becomes available.
