Officials searching for man who reportedly walked into Canyon Lake 

On Thursday, December 3, authorities continued their efforts to search for a man from Wimberley who reportedly did not resurface after walking into Canyon Lake on Wednesday.

Officials continued their search this week for a man who did not resurface after walking into Canyon Lake on Wednesday, December 1. According to the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung, the man is 47-year-old and from Wimberley. 

The Comal County Sheriff’s Office, the Canyon Lake Fire Department, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department responded to the search after officials received a 9-1-1 call about a man seen walking into Canyon Lake, near San Marcos and New Braunfels. 

Authorities told the publication the man was last seen wearing a gray shirt and sweatpants. The missing person last had contact with family members at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday morning. 

Personal items were found near Little Jacobs Creek Park, the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung reported. If the incident is ruled a drowning, it would be the fifth at Canyon Lake this year.
