Not so fast: San Antonio’s forecast may impact your weekend plans

While San Antonio has seen its fair share of rain and thunderstorms, the uncharacteristic weather isn’t quite through with the Alamo City.

According to the latest predictions from the National Weather Service, there is a likely chance of rain starting Saturday and lasting through at least Thursday of next week. The likelihood of rain and thunderstorms remains low, but residents shouldn’t be surprised to see another bout of precipitation.

After 10 a.m. onSaturday, there will be mostly cloudy skies as well as a 50 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms through the rest of the day. If San Antonio is spared from more intense thunderstorms, lower amounts of rainfall should only be between a tenth and quarter of an inch while winds will only reach 25 mph (lower than the 60 mph winds we’ve been seeing lately).

For Sunday, a 50 percent chance of unfortunate weather continues until nightfall, when the likelihood decreases to 30 percent. Wind speeds are expected to be on par with that of Saturday, if not slightly slower. The 30 percent of isolated showers and storms is expected to last through Monday night.

Tuesday is when NWS says numerous showers and thunderstorms are “likely,” primarily in the afternoon. The chance for precipitation will be 70 percent during the daytime and 60 percent at night. The temperature is expected to remain in the mid 80s during the day while the storms are slated to bring a cool front in the evening.

For Wednesday and Thursday, the chance of rain will range between 30 and 50 percent, though temperatures are expected to climb back up to the mid 80s by then.
