New Orleans Saints – RB Alvin Kamara preparing for a six-game suspension?

Rumor: New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is preparing to face a six-game suspension and a potential civil lawsuit, per Mike Florio.

Lost in the craziness of the NFL offseason was Saints running back Alvin Kamara’s arrest during Pro Bowl weekend in Vegas. Kamara is facing felony battery charges and could possibly face a civil lawsuit, according to Florio, who also questions when the suspension will ultimately end up occurring. Regardless, running back Mark Ingram, who was re-acquired last season, is likely due for a heavy increase in work in the event Kamara serves the suspension at any point next season. For now, Kamara is still with the team.

San Francisco 49ers – QB Jimmy Garoppolo

Rumor: As 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo continues to heel from offseason surgery, the market for the former second-round pick appears to only be the Carolina Panthers, per Ian Rapoport.

Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, Rapoport stated only the Panthers seem to be in the market for Garoppolo who has yet to ramp up his offseason work following surgery. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated noted that the injury has been an obstacle meaning it has likely stunted the market. Not that there would be a robust market for a 30-year-old quarterback with or without the injury. However, it has likely been the biggest obstacle in getting a trade done with the Panthers or any other team that may have been interested at some point. Regardless, the expectation is that Garoppolo does get traded. His contract becomes fully guaranteed if he is still a member of the 49ers after week one.
