NBA Summer League is returning to Salt Lake City in August 2021

The Utah Jazz have officially announced the return of the Salt Lake City Summer League for 2021, which will take place on August 3, 4, and 6 at Vivint Arena.

The 2021 rendition of the Salt Lake Summer League will feature the San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies, and two Jazz squads competing in a round-robin tournament.

Six games in total will be played, with each team participating in three contests as part of daily doubleheaders on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6 PM and 8 PM CST.

Coronavirus forced the league to cancel their Orlando, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas Summer Leagues in 2020. There’s still no word on whether they plan on reinstalling the other locations.

San Antonio went 2-1 in Salt Lake City in 2019 and saw Lonnie Walker IV average 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game on a stunningly effective 51.7% shooting from the field.

If any Spurs fans want to attend Salt Lake City Summer League, tickets go on sale today. Three-day passes start at $18 and can be purchased online at www.jazz.com or through the Utah Jazz mobile app.

Luka Samanic, Devin Vassell, Tre Jones, and whoever PATFO select with their picks in the 2021 NBA Draft will likely comprise the roster the Silver and Black send to Utah in early August.

Former Austin Spurs head coach Blake Ahearn was the lead playcaller for San Antonio in Salt Lake City in 2019. It wouldn’t be shocking if assistants Mitch Johnson or Will Hardy took over those responsibilities in 2021.
