NBA Summer League is returning to Las Vegas in August 2021

The NBA has officially announced the return of the MGM Resorts NBA Summer League for 2021, which will take place from August 8-17 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the UNLV campus.

The 2021 rendition of the Las Vegas Summer League will feature all 30 NBA franchises, with each organization participating in five games apiece spread throughout this 10-day 75-game event.

After every team has played in four games, the two teams with the best records from their first four games will meet on August 17 to determine who takes home the 2021 Las Vegas Summer League crown.

Coronavirus forced the league to cancel their Orlando, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas Summer Leagues in 2020. There’s still no word on whether they plan on restoring the other locations in 2021.

The Silver and Black went 2-3 in Las Vegas in 2019 and saw Lonnie Walker IV average a league-best 30 points per game on his way to being named to the NBA Summer League Second Team.

If any Spurs fans want to catch live Summer League action, tickets go on sale starting June 23. And there will be plenty of basketball to enjoy, with both venues hosting between seven to eight games per day.

Luka Samanic, Devin Vassell, and Tre Jones will likely headline whatever roster PATFO send to Sin City in August. And their 2021 first and second-round selections should bolster an already talented group.

San Antonio captured the 2015 Las Vegas Summer League title behind Becky Hammon and Kyle Anderson, and the good guys could have the firepower to make another deep run in 2021.
