Maybe the Spurs just needed time
How the Spurs’ playoff chances have risen 60 percentage points, at least for one site.
It’s nice when the media can admit it’s wrong every now and then. In this case, Chris Herring of FiveThirtyEight is looking back at the site’s preseason prediction that the Spurs only stood a 25% chance of making the 2019 playoffs. While that number took an even bigger dip during their November slump, it has since risen all the way up to 85%. Watch below to see how the Spurs have managed to turn things around.
Ultimately, 85% isn’t 100%, and as predicted one of their most brutal Rodeo Road Trip schedules of all time combined with an untimely injury to Derrick White is putting their resolve to the test once again. However, there is still every reason to believe this team will make it to the postseason, especially in the erratic West and once the schedule gets friendlier in March.
