Marco Belinelli signs three-year deal with Virtus Bologna

Marco Belinelli is returning to Italy to play for Virtus Bologna of the Lega Basket Serie A after signing a three-year deal with the club, according to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Belinelli began his professional basketball career with Virtus Bologna as a 16-year-old and before making his way to the NBA, where he was drafted 18th overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 2007 Draft.

Marco made a name for himself as a three-point specialist throughout his 13-year stint in the NBA and was a key contributor off the bench for a San Antonio Spurs team that won the 2014 championship.

The sweet-shooting two-guard leaves the NBA having scored 8370 points in 860 games and draining the ninth most three-pointers off the bench in league history. Belinelli also took home the three-point contest title during All-Star Weekend in 2014.
