Manu Ginobili describes a late return home in his vlog

It’s part of the NBA life, and it gets even more difficult with a family

After the Spurs’ win over the Chicago Bulls, Manu Ginobili had the kind of night that every father has sooner or later. It’s something to know that even world-class athletes have to endure the everyday stuff that we all deal with — but when your livelihood depends on your body being in top form, it has to be difficult to find the right balance.

The video is below, and it’s again in Spanish, so the translation follows.

Hello! Here we are again.

We returned from Chicago yesterday and it got complicated. I was going to tell everyone how the 2nd game went but I was dead tired. I think what was getting me more tired than the game itself, is to land in San Antonio at 2:30 in the morning, go to sleep at 3:00 am, and then at 7:30 am, my house gets going for the day. Everyone tries to put a good effort in not waking me up, but sometimes it’s impossible.

So at 7:30 I got up, and well, there we were. I went to get treatments, stretching, moving, and everything else to try and get my body back into condition for tonight. So then, there I was, recuperated, but I having slept very little, like I mentioned, so then 9:30 I was swallowed up by my pillow. I was able to sleep for 10 hours and now I feel much better. And now I’m heading to practice, were going to talk about today’s opponent, Toronto. They’re a good team, with a lot of talent. They played well last year and this year they’ve started out well. It should be good to face them and play them here at home.

Against Chicago, it wasn’t great, we didn’t play very well but well we won against a team that’s rebuilding, rearming, that has players injured or suspended. The game was close for 3 quarters, but we were able to pull out the win at the end. So, well, 2 for 2, we’re getting some wins before Kawhi and Tony get back, which we’re still hoping is as soon as possible. And we’ll see if today we can get another win.

Well that was quick return to my daily (vlog) that for now I’m still keeping up with, after two games and several preseason games. I’m trying, I’m trying.

Hi to everyone.
