Man dies after driving car into pond at Stablewood Farms Park

San Antonio police are still investigating after a man was seen driving his car on the gravel walking trail at Stablewood Farms Park around 3:30 a.m. The man drove his vehicle into the pond where it was fully submerged, according to the police. The police added that they have not uncovered a motive or reason behind the actions of the driver.

The man was rescued from his submerged vehicle, according to the police, and transported to a local hospital where he died of the life-threatening injuries he had sustained. The man’s age and identity has not yet been officially released by San Antonio police, pending positive identification and notification to the man’s next-of-kin, though KENS 5 reports that the man was 68-years-old.

This story is developing and police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Last month, a man died after his vehicle hit a guard rail on Interstate 10 in Seguin and his vehicle plunged into the Guadalupe River. Witnesses told police that the driver, Noel Hernandez, lost control of the vehicle before it broke through the guardrail and fell off the Guadalupe River bridge.
