Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte had a removal notice stuck on his £100,000 Range Rover after parking at a bus stop in Manchester city centre on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old was given a £60 parking ticket and a notice stating that his vehicle was authorised for removal just after 3pm.

However, despite returning to his car at 6:50pm, almost four hours after the ticket and notice were handed out, his Range Rover had not been towed away.

It was a lucky escape for the centre-back, and with the City star earning around £120,000-a-week it would take a little over five minutes for him to earn back the £60 parking ticket he received.

The Spanish international has endured a difficult season at the Etihad Stadium after losing his place in Pep Guardiola’s side.

Since joining from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, Laporte has featured regularly in the City line-up, racking up 170 appearances for the club and winning four league titles.

However, he missed the opening weeks of this season after undergoing knee surgery, and has struggled to force his way back into the team.

Laporte has been limited to just seven league outings this term, with only three of those coming since the World Cup.

He has been an unused substitute in City’s last three matches in all competitions, and has not featured for the team since February 18.

His lack of game time has led to speculation about his future, and he is reportedly looking to leave City this summer, with Barcelona showing an interest in bringing him back to Spain.
