Just to be safe, the Spurs scheduled their first three preseason games on the road, the better to give the construction crews that have been renovating their AT&T Center home ample time to finish a $100 million makeover. The massive project didn’t begin until May 3, so it is no surprise that a lot of work remains before the team’s regular season home opener Oct. 30 against the Brooklyn Nets. Literally, the facility on the city’s East Side remains a work in progress.
