With yet another crushing defeat in crunch time the San Antonio Spurs fell victim to the streaking Detroit Pistons on Tuesday with a failed inbound pass from Tim Duncan to Patty Mills. The losses are starting to pile up as the Spurs can’t seem to close teams out in the 4th quarter and frustration is starting to show in both the players and the coaching staff. Danny Green was quoted as saying “We’re not where we need to be, where we want to be. We’re not able to close out the way we have in the past. That’s uncharacteristic of this team. There’s no excuses for it,” said Green. The Spurs have never been one to make excuses but the team has been plagued with injuries since the start of the regular season. This is not the time to make excuses but rather rise up together as a team and say enough is enough and start playing a full 48 minute game. Despite injuries and numerous changes to the starting lineup this season one thing that has been frustrating to see is how the Spurs are losing games. The Spurs are losing games not because of a lack of effort they are losing games due to a lack of playing consistent defense in the 4th quarter. This is not the time to panic and start thinking the Spurs are on a downward spiral, we all know that the Spurs will right the ship and get back on track. The “Race For Seis” does not begin until the post season and I for one expect to see the Spurs in the NBA Finals chasing that elusive sixth title.

Latest Spurs loss is frustrating to Danny Green .
