LaMarcus Aldridge dropped a 41-point bomb on the Grizzlies
Tony Parker added 10 in his second game back.
We all know that Tony Patker will continue to rediscover his game as his time on the court increases, but did anyone see him matching Marc Gasol’s scoring? Both had 10 points on the night. The Spurs maintained composure as Memphis continued to grind themselves back into contention. In the end, LaMarcus Aldridge’s season high 41 points did more damage than the Grizzlies’ rebounding and second chance points.
“He’s gotten us through this period of time without Tony and Kawhi in a wonderful way. We’d really be lost without him.”
Gregg Popovich on LaMarcus Aldridge
Stat of the night: Memphis took to the floor with J.B. Bickerstaff, the 13th head coach since Gregg Popovich took over in San Antonio, the most of any NBA team. In all there have been 224 head coach changes in the NBA since the 1997-98 season. The Spurs have had zero.
Kawhi Leonard (quad) is close to participating in 5-on-5 scrimmaging, Tom Orsborn of San Antonio Express-News reports.
