Journalist Says 33M Transfer Has “Opened The Door” For City To Snap Up Key Guardiola Target

Aston Villa’s £33m swoop for Norwich’s Emiliano Buendia could well aid Manchester City’s attempts to sign Jack Grealish, according to ESPN‘s Mark Ogden:

It seems as though Villa have beaten Arsenal to Buendia’s signature and if the deal is finalised, there is a chance that the Midlands club could be more open to selling Grealish.

Odgen claims the 25-year-old is reportedly a key target for manager Pep Guardiola, who sees the England international as an equally important addition to getting a new number nine:

Whether Buendia’s arrival will have any bearing on Grealish‘s availability, we shall have to wait and see. Most reports suggest that Villa will demand at least £100m for their captain.

Manchester United have also been linked with the midfielder in the past but, with the Red Devils focused on snapping up Jadon Sancho, it could give City a clear run for Grealish if they can come up with the funds required.
