Jorginho’s agent rules out reunion with Sarri at Juve and says midfielder wants to stay at Chelsea

Jorginho’s agent has said the Chelsea midfielder is happy to remain at Stamford Bridge amid rumours of a move to Juventus.

The 28-year-old’s representative Joao Santos shut down links over a possible reunion with former manager Maurizio Sarri and claimed he could sign a new contract with the Blues.

Reports in Italy had suggested Sarri was lining up a transfer to take Jorginho back to Serie A after signing him for Chelsea from Napoli in 2018.

‘I read but I never had contact with them,’ the agent told Calciomercato when asked about the rumours.

‘Neither Sarri, nor [Juve’s chief football officer] Fabio Paratici called me to have information on Jorginho.

‘As of today, I know absolutely nothing about this situation. The lad is very happy in London, where he is proving his worth and still has three years left on his contract.

‘In fact, in July there’s the possibility we can start talks to add a fourth and extend his contract with Chelsea.

‘I don’t know what Juve’s transfer strategy is, but these are our plans for the future.’

After a tricky start to life in London, the Italy international has proved his worth in the Premier League and become an integral part of Frank Lampard’s team.

The midfielder has played 37 times this season, scoring seven goals and providing two assists.

He has also worn the captain’s armband on three occasions, providing the Blues with valuable experience alongside the younger talent in the squad.
