“He’s Making Mistakes” Gary Neville Points Finger At City Star Who’s Drop His Level This Season

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville believes Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is not performing to the level he has reached in past seasons.

The Brazilian number one came out of his goal and failed to save shots from Son Heung-Min and Giovani Lo Celso as the Citizens slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham at the weekend, and Neville feels that he should have done better with both goals:

“Ederson doesn’t look as comfortable in goal, he’s making mistakes he wouldn’t have made a couple of seasons ago.”

Ederson’s save percentage has dropped slightly to 70.4% this campaign, with his worst season being the first campaign where he managed just 69.1% so Neville is correct to recognise there is a slight drop in his numbers.

In terms of making mistakes, the only one that can be directly attributed to him was the goal against Leeds United last month, so the former Manchester United captain is being rather harsh there.

It does seem like Ederson is just slightly off his best, at the moment, which could be said for most of City’s players.
