Officials report the adult person was asymptomatic on the day they were on the high school campus on March 12. San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District officials say they have sent notification to its employees and student families.

The identity of the individual is being withheld because of HIPAA laws.

Eric Schneider, an epidemiologist with Hays County, says the risk of transmission associated with the person when they were on campus is low, but recommends all staff and students monitor themselves for symptoms until March 26. Those symptoms typically include fever, dry cough, and congestion.
